Elections Act 1st Amendment 2016​

An act to amend the Elections Act for the purpose of running elections (especially by-elections) more easily.​

Now, therefore, BE IT ENACTED by the order of the glorious Constitution of this People's Republic, by and with the advice and consent of the democratically elected representatives of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party, in holding the public mandate, in this present committee assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows-

ARTICLE I - Provisions

​ (1) Article III, Section 6 shall be amended to:

“(6) The Supreme People's Justice, General Secretary or a forum administrator shall announce elections prior to the beginning of the standing period.”

Original:

(6) The Supreme People's Justice shall announce elections at least 5 days prior to the beginning of the standing period.

(2) Article III, Section 7 shall be amended:

"(7) For elections to the Central Committee, and for the General Secretary, the standing period shall last 7 days. By-elections to the Central Committee shall have a standing period of 3 days."

(7) For all elections to the Central Committee, and for the General Secretary, the standing period shall last 7 days.

ARTICLE II - Schedule

(3) The principal act shall come into force immediately upon passage of the Central Committee with the signature of the General Secretary.
